First edition. Hart was a prominent educator, first in New Jersey and then Philadelphia. He achieved distinction by his success in the reorganization of the Philadephia high school and in 1857 became the first editor of the "Sunday School Times." He was the most influential writer in the Sunday-school movement. He moved to Trenton and while there he published "In the School-Room" "a conventional and fragmentary treatment of educational methods, which achieved a wide popularity." - DAB.
