Chicago: Financial Advertisements Corp. of Chicago, circa 1925. Nine advance proof advertising sheets targeted to banks in Slavic immigrant neighborhoods. Each measures 8 1/2 x 4 inches. (Item ID: 2661)

The pamphlets are printed in English and the language of the targeted immigrant (in these proofs, Bohemian and Polish). They feature an American story such as the "Boston Tea Party," or " The Landing of Columbus," along with an incentive to open a bank account, such as "A Business of Your Own," "Marriage," or "A Cozy Home of Your Own." With lovely color illustrations by Will E. Livezey.
An unusual ephemeral example of the American dream.
