A souvenir menu on a Chinese silk fan from the ship m.s. "TJIWANGI" of the Royal Interocean Lines. The menu was for Sunday, 26th April, 1953. It measures 12 (from top of fan to bottom of handle) x 8 inches. and is hand painted with a floral motif. Excellent condition. (Item ID: 2606)

The Royal Interocean Lines was a Dutch line whose ships rarely sailed home. The TJIWANGI, built in 1951, and her sister ship, the TJILUWAH ran a cruise - like service from Australia to the Orient, which was much favored by wealthy Australians for a leisurely holiday.
