Paris: Gazette De Bon Ton, 1920. A portfolio of four pochoir plates from Gazette de Bon Ton No. 10, 1920. The plates depict designs for a bedroom interior and furniture by the designers Bagge and Huguet. The folder which held the plates within the magazine, is of the same paper as the plates and is no longer joined at the fold. Otherwise clean and bright. (Item ID: 2602)

Published in Paris between 1912 and 1925 by "Libraire Centrale de Beaux-Arts" with Lucien Vogel as the director, the "Gazette de Bon Ton" was expensive to produce and exclusive in its aim. As stated at the time: it was to be "a showcase in which only the most luxurious examples of high fashion and the decorative arts could be displayed, regardless of the cost involved." It was produced unbound, in portfolio style, and the plates and text employed the finest methods of printing with coloring done by pochoir (hand coloring with stencils).
