T. M. Norwood was a politician, judge and writer. He served in the United States Senate, for the state of Georgia, from 1871-1877. The "Library of Southern Literature" notes that "As a writer, the style of Judge Norwood is caustic and brilliant." The only review of the above book was in the National Encyclopedia, which called it "a sort of serio-comic commentary."
