A bright, handsome copy of the fourth edition, originally published in 1843. The Reverend John Marsh (1788-1868) became active in the Temperance movement in the 1820's and in 1836 he accepted the secretaryship of the American Temperance Union and in this capacity was sent to the World's temperance convention in London in 1846.
