A fine copy of a later edition, originally issued in 1747. Doddridge, a nonconformist divine , was a major influence in the unification of Nonconformist groups. His most important work was "The Rise and Progress of Religion in the Soul" (1847) and the above work, which is an account of a reformed rake, who died of wounds received at the Battle of Prestonpans.
